Meet the Author:

Janice Monk Glass was born into Deep East Texas families of farmers, educators, and writers who encouraged her to write. Her first works were published in a national farm magazine when she was nine-years-old. She attended East Texas State University, Vanderbilt University and Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She is a member of The Grand Ol’ Opry, The Country Music Association, The Academy of Country Music, Nashville Songwriters Assn., Int., and Broadcast Music, Inc., (BMI) as a songwriter.

Shaking the Apple Trees, the Stories of Henry Jesse Hatton, was written when the characters began intruding into another book she was writing. They were creative, industrious and endearing characters who deserved a book of their own. By many requests, a sequel to this book is completed at this time, Shaking the Apple Trees, Stories from the General Store.

Crazy Ol’ Friends: Stories of Faith, Family and Friends,
was released June 10, 2008. The prose is non-fiction, and poetry is included. In the book are interesting stories of summers on grandparents’ farms, school days in Texarkana, and a faith filled journey through life.

The Family Tree and Other Stories
was released June 20, 2008, This collection contains stories of a favorite dog, a lost space ship, true love lost and found, mysterious creatures, bad dreams, strange relatives, and things that go bump in the night.

The Departing Spirits: A Short Story Collection
was released July 27, 2009. This is a fifteen story collection of romance, mass murder, humor, mystery, deceit, and abduction. This book has a five star rating and is on the Abe Book Stores top ten best seller lists in the UK and India.

It Takes Courage to be a Woman: A Poetry Collection
was released September 15, 2009.

Rain: Country Songs and Country Poems
was released April 1, 2010.

Wild Horses and Other Stories, and Dancing With The Man in the Moon and Other Stories are in the works for 2011-2012.
