Smith, Nancy

Fiber Arts.

Nancy will be doing LIVE spinning wheel demonstrations in her booth throughout the festival!

After a career in the Navy, Nancy’s father moved his family to Tucson Arizona where she grew up enjoying the warm sunshine in the Sonoran Desert. Her interest in fiber arts started when her mother taught her to sew her own clothes. From there she delved into every fiber art she could find.

Finally, about 20 years ago she combined her love of animals with the pleasure she derived from creating when she bought her first sheep and a spinning wheel. Now her critters supply her with fiber to make a variety of outerwear, car seat covers, and saddle pads.

Nancy has 4 daughters whom she home educated. They are all gone from home now and she lives on Whispering Oaks Ranch in beautiful East Texas with her flock of sheep, alpacas and a fiber goat named Dinah, her horses and Airedale Terriers.
